We Are the Voice for Kelly Thomas...

This Wednesday and Thursday

I will be attending the monthly meeting that Sharon Quirk-Silva has tomorrow (Wednesday). It is at Steamers Cafe located at 138 Commonwealth, just west of Harbor. This is like a "Town-Hall" meeting that everyone is welcomed to attend to find out what is going on in Fullerton, and to ask Sharon anything that you like. It starts at 4:00pm. After the meeting, I will be "Re-Building" Kelly's Memorial as it is in need of attention.

I will also be visiting the Farmers Market this Thursday, and then joining in with the 7:30 walk for Kelly. If you would like to talk to me and find out more about what is going on with the case or anything else, please come out and we can talk. There has been a lot happening recently , so take this opportunity to visit with me.

I'd like to address these three responses to my Blog Statement.

"I organized the demonstration and put a good deal of work into it. I am sorry that you don't think it is a good time but I will put my efforts into other causes. I was just very embarrassed when I promoted this and did as much as I could to get it going including legal planning to find out that I cannot do it on a blog indirectly".

Yes Joey, you did organize a demonstration. On your own without talking to me AGAIN. I, like you found out about your plans indirectly. If you read all of the words again, you will see that I did not say that you cannot go through with YOUR plans, I said that I do not support them WITHOUT PROOF. I told you before Joey, work with me. Your a good person with a good heart. You just need to include me when you are doing something that involves Kelly or me. Talk to me first!

 

fullerton writes: "I am so disappointed that you've decided to take this route especially with John and Ken coming to town. I think it would have been wiser to hold out until 2 weeks after they came down so the momentum could keep going. I'm sure you have your reasons but I hope its not about money. Mr Thomas, please remember that the Fullerton PD is very corrupt and there are so many victims who have been framed, physically assaulted and sexually assaulted.You have a great opportunity to be a voice of reason against police brutality and mental illness so I beg you not to abandon this movement, please don't turn your back on us and please forget about us. We can do SO much good if this continues.

What in the hell does John and Ken have to do with the Saturday protest. They are coming into town for the RECALL. And you need to explain to me what you mean by "I hope its not about money". This really pissed me off. Let me remind you that my FIRST priority is my son. Remember Kelly? not about you. I have done a lot for everyone, including the City of Fullerton. I'm the one who got the Homeless Task Force started, Officer training, New and re-opened investigations for assault and brutality victims, the possibility to have a recall, I'm personally having many officers investigated, I am the one who called CH 5 and told them about Rincon who contacted the Federal Judge. Just before Tuesday nights City Council Meeting I went out and bought all of the rain gear that I could find, and gave it out to the homeless after the meeting. As far as turning my back on you and forgetting about you (again it suggest that this is about you and not Kelly) I'm not going away. I work every hour of every day planing my next moves. This includes figuring out how to make Fullerton a better place for everyone (and I don't even live in Fullerton), taking apart the police department and then re-building it, working on all the ways that I can have charges placed on the other 4 cops, working with the FBI and the DA's office, supporting the recall. What are YOU doing? So, don't tell me that I'm not doing enough for YOU. Again, it's about KELLY!

I want an answer to that money comment.

And, why don't you use your real name?

MeYou: "He doesn't have the right to ask anyone not to protest."

You just don't get it do you. What are you protesting? Give me a logical reason why we should be out there, and I will be there. Re-read what I wrote and see if it makes any sense.

Also, use your name, don't hide behind "MeYou".

What Did the Other Four Officers Do in the Thomas Beating? - Voice of OC...

To my friends and family. Here is the "Official" timeline of Kelly's altercation with the Fullerton PD (Thank you Tracy Woods, Voice of OC) See the link at the bottom of the page. I also have a calendar on KTMF.ORG now. I will start putting information on it that everyone can view such as court dates, events, meetings and so on.

I have talked with many of you, and I have decided to stop the Saturday protest in front of the Fullerton PD for now. The main reason is that the Police Department cannot do anything to the other four bad cops until the independent review is completed by Michael Gennaco. This might take many weeks/months. So, please take this time to take some time and enjoy life and your weekends for awhile, you deserve it. I will need all of you (Kelly's Army) in the future. Like everything that I have done so far, it is all about timing, and now is the time to stop the protest.
I want to thank everyone for all of your hard work and devotion to my son. It is because of all of you helping me that we have made history with the charges on the two cops, and what will come in the near future. I would like to see the candle light vigils to continue. I will be at the Farmers Market this afternoon if you would like to talk.

Also, I understand that there is a scheduled protest/demonstration in front of the Slide-Bar tomorrow night (Friday). Yes, the call did come from there by a female Assistant Manager. What we don't know (and I will find out soon) is:

1.    Did she call because a citizen told her that Kelly was breaking into cars? If so, she was acting like a responsible Manager should have.

2.    Did Officers from the Fullerton PD tell her to call and say that Kelly was breaking into cars so that they could respond?

Until this is cleared up, I cannot support any action against the Slide-Bar.

The Dr. Phil Show

I want to thank everyone for the very successful first Annual Kelly Thomas Memorial Foundation Concert and Food Drive. Below is an e-mail that I sent to the media telling them about what a great job Kelly's Army has done to help the needy. It is because of all of your hard work that so many people now have some food to eat, and clothes to wear.

 
"The first Annual Kelly Thomas Concert and Benefit / Food Drive held this past Saturday (Sept. 17th) was a great success. All of the bands played well, the food was good, but the most important aspect was that the donations were more than any of us had anticipated.

Even the night before, I made it clear to the homeless folks around the Fullerton area that they needed to come to this event, as it was for them. At the event, I told them that if they needed any clothing to go ahead and go through it and take what they needed without having to wait for a church or other groups to give items out to them. It made me very happy to see that so many people were being helped in my sons name and honor through his foundation that I started.  

The next morning (Yesterday), I still had a full 12x6 foot trailer completely packed with clothes and food to give away. A very close friend of mine, Ryan Betts, that grew up with Kelly and his brother and sister works with the homeless and people that are in need. Ryan made a phone call to a pastor David Hernandez in Santa Ana. Well, I drove the donations to the Pastors church and met with Ryan, Pastor Hernandez, and Kim (a very dedicated member of Kelly's Army), and we unloaded the full trailer. As it turns out, Pastor Hernandez feeds around 70 homeless people EVERY DAY!  The final estimates were around 2,000 pounds of clothing (100 full large trash bags), and around 2,500 pounds of food. This gave me an unbelievable feeling that so many people would benefit and have something to eat and some new clothes/shoes. I can't thank everyone enough that donated and supported this wonderful event."

"Why am I sending this to you? I would like it very much if you, my media friends, would contact Pastor Hernandez and do a follow up story of how the Kelly Thomas Memorial Foundation is already helping so many people in need, and to bring to light the amazing work of "The Neighborhood Church" in Santa Ana".

Thank you again, and I will see you tomorrow night at 6:30 for the City Council Meeting.

Saturdays Protest

It's been a long week and everyone has done a great job in keeping Kelly's voice heard........ Please join me this Saturday at the protest from 9:00am until 1:00pm, and then join all of Kelly's Army at the first Annual Concert and Benefit (canned food and clothing drive) also this Saturday from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at the Farmers Market on Wilshire, between Harbor and Pomona in downtown Fullerton. There will be 7 bands, lots of food, Raffles, special guest appearances, and fun for all.

Protest at the DA's Office Tomorrow

 
We had a great Press Conference today. In my true style, I along with my Attorney Garo (who has done a great job so far), went straight at them with all of the medical facts about Kelly. Everything that you have seen last night and today, I have been holding inside for sometime now, and it has been very painful for me.  Again, it's all about timing.

Now it is time to take our fight to the DA himself, so Tomorrow from 11:00, until 2:00 there will be a protest in front of the DA's office. We must let him know that we (Kelly's Army) will not go away, and that he must do the right thing.

I have just learned that the OC Coroner will conclude their report within two weeks. The DA said that he will give his statement of charges within only a few days after that. Lets stay vigilant and don't let up for a second, as we have done an amazing job taking on the City Council, The Police Department, and now the DA's Office.

Now is the time to be stronger than ever, so please join me for tomorrows protest.
